A big thanks to the awesome crew at the Gravity Discovery Centre in Gingin for letting us use their 45m leaning tower for our own experiments. If you wanna head out there and check it out, it's not far from Perth where we live:

We are passionate about seeing children released from poverty and we would love you to consider sponsoring a child with Compassion. We visited our sponsor children in the Philippines and were blown away by the difference that child sponsorship can make. To find out more about sponsoring a child right now, check out:
What's the 44 Club you may ask? Well it all started in the outro of this video where we wondered if anyone was still watching the video at that point, and to comment 44 (Scott's fave number) if they were. Brett then said 44 Club get on board and the rest is history. The 44Club is the official How Ridiculous fan club made up of people who love our videos and watch them right to the very end. We've even got 44 Club merch now! So yeh, that's the story. Pretty random but good fun at the same time.

I would love to see balloons of various sizes filled with oobleck dropped onto some kind of hard flat surface at the bottom of the tower! Great content, keep it up!

Imagine them dropping oobleck from the tower. Would it behave as a liquid when dropped, & act as a solid when it hits the ground?

The reason oobleck behaves like it does is because when you slowly go down, the molecules of the starch are less compact and it makes it less dense, but when you go on it hard, the molecules come together get forced into one area, which is why it behaves like a solid

I'm still wondering how long it takes for them to go up all of those stairs.

It sounds like the bowling ball is screaming in fear as it falls lmfao

Why not drop oobleck onto a trampoline i wanna know of itll pour like liquid but then when it hits that tramp will it solidify? Idk sounds ridiculous though.

Corn starch is primarily used as a thickening agent in the kitchen. You use it to thicken sauces / soups without giving them a floury taste.

You guys need a long rope and a pulley to get stuff back up the tower. It would make the task a bit easier.

Your vid's are so refreshingly cheerful. Thanks for all the good vibes.

If you're really wanting a bounce, you should change the sand to something solid enough for the bowling ball to bounce on normally from just a couple of meters away. The force of the bowling ball is transferring into the sand through the oobleck. Maybe try a large sheet of decently thick metal, or a platform of bricks dug halfway into the sand.

Love the whistling noise of a bowling ball in free fall :)

I’m curious to see what a lot of oobleck dropped from that height would do to a mannequin/person. Like would it hit as a solid or hit like a liquid. ⚡️⚡️🔥

Why don't you guys ever use a rope or pulley system to get the objects back up instead of running down every time ?

  • sanepjin

Watching grown ups playing with oobleck makes me crack up soo hard. 😂😂😂

  • Sage

You need a pulley system that can just latch onto the railing for less walking more bowling ball yeeting

Okay... so I watched your bowling ball vs trampoline last night and at first I thought why would someone do this?! But it was just so interesting!!!! I watched this video tonight and it was so interesting and fun to watch! My major is physics so I really like your videos.

You know, given how much these boys love their tower its know wonder how skinny the three of them are. They are essentially doing cardio all day.
